Division Chair - Agriculture

Faculty member/administrator who serves as an instructional leader and manages the instructional and operational processes of the division.
In addition to teaching, a Division Chair's major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
personnel supervision; budget preparation and management; facilities and materials management; course and program development; and functions related to the planning, scheduling, and evaluation of course offerings.
Responsibilities and Duties Fiscal Responsibility:
Maintain primary responsibility for development and administration of department budgets within the division, including preparation of the full-time overload and adjunct payroll.
Teach four classes over the academic year.
This may be structured two and two, three and one, or part can be done in the summer.
Actively recruit students for programs in assigned area.
Establish relationships with counterparts at local colleges and universities to facilitate transfer and articulation of credit earned.
Oversee curriculum development and review and ensure that standards and curricula provide adequate preparation of students.
Facilitate the development of learning outcomes and assessment techniques for individual courses and programs as appropriate.
Ensure that all information for the division courses and programs is current and accurate in the college catalog, Track and report Perkins core indicator data.
Hold division meetings and disseminate information with division faculty on a regular basis.
Work with Dean to plan and prepare class schedules for the division, coordinating with other departments as necessary.
Coordinate development of course syllabi, textbook adoptions and other instructional support activities.
Direct the Institutional Effectiveness process as well as the Strategic Planning for the division.
Supervise and evaluate faculty members within the division and recommend to the Dean the renewal or non-renewal of contracts.
Maintain written evaluations of each faculty member in the division, detailing strengths and areas requiring improvement and outlining methods to address those needs.
Work to enhance faculty participation in the administration of the division.
Assist and give direction to faculty members within the division.
Recruit, screen, and assist with the selection of new faculty and staff.
Provide and/or assist in the orientation of new full-time and part-time faculty within the division.
Coordinate academic advisement activities within the division.
Maintain primary responsibility for development and administration of department budgets within the division, including preparation of semester payroll.
Remain current and knowledgeable of Board policies and other administrative procedures, and perform administrative roles as required by Board policies.
Ensure compliance with requirements of accrediting and governmental agencies.
Advise the Dean of division needs concerning staff, facilities, equipment, etc.
Work to enhance faculty participation in administration of the division.
Oversee management of farm, PACE Property, and equine facilities as it related to instruction.
Create and maintain schedule for hay production.
Manage cow herd goals and maintenance of herd.
Manage equine herd goals and maintenance of herd.
Oversee feed inventory & ordering, and manage feeding schedules to include weekends and holidays.
Participate in community events, animals shows, etc.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
